What is Street Style 2015? You might check Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, or even HONY to find out, but the truth is that you need not look any further than the sneaker rack at Nordstrom. However crazy it may sound, the most on-trend purchase of the season is from Adidas – a brand in the midst of a remarkable comeback – and is none other than the 90’s classic Superstar shoe. Coming on the heels (see what I did there) of 2014’s Stan Smiths craze, Adidas has another hit on its hands with the Superstars, which feature a chunkier design, a shell toe, and three stripes on the side. The brand has recruited stars like Rita Ora, Pharrell Williams and David Beckham to restore its street cred with a whole new generation, touting the slogan, “Reclaim Superstar.” Visible on the front row of New York and Paris fashion weeks, the shoe is a perfect medium between trendy sportswear and classic style. Further proving that these throwback kicks have taken over as the footwear silhouette of the season, they are sported regularly by Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, and practically every other model with an Instagram. They’re cool, comfy, and just old-school enough to go with any look, ranging from business casual to relaxed street wear. Go minimalist with a monochromatic black or white two-piece set, or indulge in some normcore by wearing the shoes with jeans and a tee. Either way, the classic Superstars will make your look that much cooler.
