We have all been there: your best friend, mother, sister, brother, grandmother’s birthday, wedding, baby shower, graduation is next week and you have no idea what to get them. You also have four exams, two essays, a book to read, and uncountable amount of social commitments between now and then. In the modern world of technology, however, there is no need to fret. Online shopping has got you covered.

If you are buying for a foodie:

There are so many different food gift services out there nowadays, sometimes it’s hard to know which to choose. Not to worry though! These three are my tried-and-true favorites. If you are trying to send the perfect gift basket, MOUTH has got you covered. They have everything from pickles and popcorn, to wine and chocolate. Plus, you can even create your own custom basket with all your loved ones’ favorite treats. If you want something more trendy, edible cookie dough is all the rage these days and DŌ NYC allows you to send cookie dough all across the U.S. Last but not least, Edible Arrangements has always got you covered with the perfect fruit basket. They have over 1,000 stores across the world and can do same-day delivery if you’re really in a time crunch. If you’re trying to find the perfect gift:

When it comes to unique gifts, look no further than Etsy and Uncommon Goods. Both have selections that you won’t find anywhere else and offer a wide range of prices. One thing to keep in mind for both of these websites, however, is that shipping takes time, so make sure to order your perfect gift in advance.

If you are all about giving back:

When searching for gifts for my extended family one year, my mother discovered the wonderful nonprofit called Kiva. Kiva allows you to donate a loan to someone in the world who is trying to create a better life for themselves or their community. You have the option to donate to over 84 different countries around the world, and the best part is the money will get paid back to you over time. Plus, once the money is paid back, you can either take it out or donate it to someone else. If you give someone a Kiva loan in their name, it allows them to go online and pick the person they want to donate to and continue the wonderful process of giving.

If you want to keep it simple:

People tend to forget about the wonderful, yet simple gift of flowers. No matter where your loved one lives, you can always find the local florist in the area and send them a beautiful bouquet. Many stores even have the option of letting the florist design a unique bouquet if you can’t decide on your own.

If the special occasion has passed:

Let’s be real: sometimes we just forget about those special moments. In these desperate times, Amazon has always got you covered. You can send your loved one anything you can imagine, and as long as you include an apology note with your bomb gift, I’m sure you will be forgiven (unless of course it is your mother’s birthday, then you should be prepared to grovel.)

So go buy your special someone an amazing online gift! (Alternatively, you know you can always just go buy yourself some cookie dough!)
